It is interesting to note at this point, that the ICS web differs from many other webs in the respect that it is not only a 'remote' web which is accessed by people world wide, such as many personal or commercial pages. Rather, it is also a 'practical' web designed to be used regularly by the members of a small community. This means that the ICS web is a;

• Remote Internet resource
• An set of facilities for members of the department
• An 'Internet gateway', providing general Web access to members of the department.
